Audley Cricket Club is calling on all members, supporters, and the local community to stand together for a cause that hits close to home. We are officially supporting UK Parliament Petition 750999, which demands government funding for cardiac screening for every young person in the UK.
Why This Matters to Audley CC
As a club with a thriving junior section and deep roots in the North Staffs community, the safety of our young athletes is our highest priority. Heartbreakingly, 12 young people aged 35 and under die suddenly from undiagnosed heart conditions every week in the UK.
Many of these individuals show no symptoms, but many could be saved through simple, proactive screening. Our local community is already well-aware of the incredible work done by CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young) and the Dan Hughes Memorial Fund, which has screened thousands of local youngsters right here in Audley and the surrounding areas.
The Goal: Petition 750999
The petition (linked below) urges the Government and the UK National Screening Committee to:
Fund population cardiac screening for every young person when they reach age 14.
Provide ECG (electrocardiogram) tests followed by heart scans where necessary.
Launch a national awareness campaign to stop these needless deaths.
How You Can Help
We need 100,000 signatures to ensure this vital issue is debated in Parliament. Whether you are a player, a parent, or a fan of the game, your signature could help save a life on or off the pitch.

A message from the Club:
"At Audley CC, we are more than just a sports club; we are a family. We have seen first-hand the impact that cardiac screening can have, and we believe it should be a right, not a privilege. Please take 60 seconds to sign this petition and share it with your friends and family."
Let’s help reach the 100,000-signature goal and protect the next generation of cricketers.
