Festive Spirit Hits Record High at Audley Cricket Club’s Christmas Celebration

Richard Beckett22 Dec 2025 - 13:56

Merry Christmas to all!!!

The rafters of Audley Cricket Club were ringing last night as the local community gathered for the highly anticipated Annual Festive Singalong and Christmas Raffle. The event, which has become a staple of the village’s holiday calendar, proved to be a resounding success, blending tradition with record-breaking generosity.

A Sell-Out Night of Song
The clubhouse was filled to capacity for the sell-out event. Attendees didn’t hold back, "belting out" a selection of classic carols and festive hits with infectious enthusiasm. The atmosphere was described by many as the perfect kickoff to the holiday season, bringing together members, neighbours, and families for a night of collective cheer.

Record-Breaking Raffle Results
While the singing was a highlight, the real headline of the evening was the Christmas Raffle. Thanks to the overwhelming support of the community, the club raised over £1,600—a new record for the annual draw.

The success of the raffle was made possible by:

Generous Donors: Local businesses and individuals who provided a vast array of prizes.

Ticket Buyers: Supporters who contributed to the record-breaking total.

The "Pit Crew": A special thanks goes to the club’s younger members, who did a fantastic job handing out prizes to the lucky winners in attendance.

The Stars of the Show
The evening ran smoothly thanks to the efforts of a dedicated team. Paul Harris took the helm as Master of Ceremonies for the raffle, keeping the crowd entertained and the pace lively.

Technological flair was added to the draw by Joseph Beckett, who gets a special mention for his expert control of the digital "spinning wheel" on the big screen, ensuring every winner was selected at random with high-stakes tension and transparency.

Looking Ahead to 2026
Thank you to all the volunteers, members, and supporters who have made 2025 such an incredible year for Audley Cricket Club. Lets hope for even more success in 2026.

Audley Cricket Club wishes everyone in the community a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
